Jeddah’s contribution in the upliftment and development of Islam is unparalleled. And hence it is certainly apt that this illustrious city is hosting the first-of-its-kind exhibition, Islamic Arts Biennale 2023. The Islamic Arts Biennale is an undertaking of Diriyah Biennale Foundation (DBF) whose plan is to stage this exhibition once every 2 years. The DBF has previously staged a Contemporary Art Biennale, the Kingdom’s first ever Biennale, that received resounding applause and appreciation.

The Islamic Arts Biennale 2023 will begin on January 23, 2023 and go on till April 23, 2023.
The timings of the exhibition are 11 AM to 11 PM.

The entry to the exhibition is FREE and open to all.
The Islamic Arts Biennale by Diriyah Biennale Foundation (DBF) aims to nurture and appreciate the glorious history and future of Islamic culture through art. Over 58 artists from all over the world will be presenting more than 69 contemporary artworks over a sprawling exhibition space of 12,000 sq. km. A few artists that will be displaying their art are Saudi artists Ahmed Mater and Sultan Bin Fahd, Egyptian artist Huda Lutfi and Iranian-born Shahpour Pouyan.The visitors will be treated with over 15 never before seen artworks too.
Artworks will be loaned from prestigious and international institutes specializing in Islamic arts. The theme of this year, Awwal Bayt (first house) takes inspiration from Ka’bah and the Prophet’s Mosque of Madinah.
The art pieces will be curated by many renowned curators and scholars including Saad Alrashid, Omniya Adel Barr, and Julian Raby. The artworks will be displayed in 2 sections viz., indoor and outdoor. The indoor setup will be dedicated to qiblah whereas the outdoor setup will be dedicated to the migration/ hijrah.
All the exhibits will have audio guides in 4 languages namely, English, Arabic, Bahasa, and Urdu and visitor guides in 15+ languages. Guided tours can be booked with 6 tour guides for free at the site.

Fakieh Aquarium is home to a variety of marine life, including dolphins, seals, sharks, and more. The aquarium also has a large coral reef exhibit and a touch tank where visitors can get up close and personal with sea creatures.
