The Yamuna, one of India's holiest rivers, is mentioned in several early religious writings. It is, therefore, not strange that there have been several temples close to her banks since ancient times. Without regard for caste, race, or color, millions of devotees travel from all over the country to the majestic temple to offer prayers and enjoy the serene surroundings and the cool Yamuna River breeze. Lord Shiva in Agra's Kailash Mandir is close to 5,000 years old. There are two Shivlings, each adding something unique to the temple's aesthetic appeal. This mythical tale originates in Hinduism's Treta Yuga. It goes back to the period of Jamadagni, the father of Lord Parshuram. To revere and adore Lord Shiva, they traveled to Kailash Parvat. To receive a blessing, they sacrificed animals to the Shiva deity there. They each received a Shivling from Lord Shiva, who was pleased with the outcome. Before heading to the Renuka Ashram (on the banks of the Yamuna River), they slept. They chose a spot roughly 6 kilometers from their Ashram. They put the Shivlings down and went to bed. After waking up, they attempted to relocate the Shivlings but were unable. They tried their best but in vain. They finally decided to install the Shivlings and carry out the necessary rituals for them after experiencing multiple failures.
